About

Marc Dumont became fascinated by the plight of beavers years ago when beavers on his property in Alberta, Canada required professional intervention. While some landowners might have been tempted to remove or exterminate the creatures, he felt inspired to find a creative solution to the problem.

This simple instinct set him on a life-changing course to become a professional beaver control specialist.

Already a certified drone pilot and an Alberta certified trapper with an environmental monitoring certificate from the University of Northern British Columbia, Dumont is currently working towards graduation from the Beaver Institute with a Beaver Institute Professional Training Certificate of Completion.

Upon graduation, he plans to join the Beavers Corp, where he will do site visits and assessments and find creative solutions to landowners’ beaver problems – solutions like using exclusion fencing and flow devices.

As part of his current education, he is not only learning conflict mitigation methods, but also gaining insight in beaver behavior and habitats and the many roles they play in an ecosystem.

Marc Dumont will use his real world experience and this education to protect properties and watersheds.
